A little bit about me

Whether I’m quilting, cooking, playing music, or exploring new cultures, creativity guides my path. Living and traveling in Taiwan deepened that spark—revealing inspiration in architecture, street art, night markets, mountain landscapes, and everyday moments of connection.

I believe in sharing those discoveries and inviting others to become Yesplorers—curious, open, and willing to experience the world more deeply.

Maker, traveler, and Yesplorer — I love sharing the little corners of the world that make your heart skip a beat.

When I turned 30, I took my first trip to Asia… and ended up moving there. That leap into the unknown changed everything for me.

I became a “yes” person. From that mindset, the idea of a Yesplorer was born—someone who meets life with curiosity, courage, and an enthusiastic “yes” to what’s next. Over time, I found I wanted to be surrounded by other Yesplorers too—people who lean into experience, connection, and discovery.

After growing up in Colorado and marrying my high school sweetheart, we moved to Wisconsin and started our family. Years later, we relocated to Taiwan for my husband’s work in the bicycle industry, where we lived for seven years.

Taiwan changed us. We fell in love with its people, its landscapes, and the rhythm of everyday life. It became a place of constant discovery—wandering night markets, exploring hidden roads, and never quite knowing what we’d find around the next corner. The kindness of the Taiwanese people, in particular, left a lasting imprint on me.

During those years, I began designing and leading small cultural tours, sharing the island with individuals and groups who wanted to experience it beyond the surface. That work became the foundation of what I do today.

Now based in Sisters, Oregon—a mountain town that feels a little like a storybook—we continue to live a creative, adventure-filled life. My husband and I mountain bike with a local youth cycling team, explore the Pacific Northwest in a renovated 1975 travel trailer, and spend our days immersed in making, designing, and creating.

In between all of that, I curate cultural experiences in Taiwan for those who want more than travel—those who want connection, curiosity, and a deeper way of seeing a place.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

The Spark:

While living in Taiwan, I began receiving requests from people traveling for business who wanted someone to show them around for a few extra days after their work trips. I happily said yes—and quickly realized how much I loved sharing the island in this way.

Soon after, people started traveling to Taiwan specifically to experience the culture with me, even when they weren’t there for work. Watching them fall in love with Taiwan—and seeing it through fresh eyes each time—was the spark that changed everything.

What began as a few informal days exploring the island slowly evolved into something more intentional: curated experiences designed to help others feel the depth, beauty, and everyday magic of Taiwan.

Who You’ll Be Exploring Taiwan With:

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Beth Eckstein, who joins me in hosting our curated cultural experiences in Taiwan. Beth recently moved back to the US after living in Asia for 20+ years, most of those years spent in Taiwan. Her expertise in the area and the language is invaluable as well as her love for Asia. Beth is full of wisdom and always up for a good laugh (she’ll bring the funny, for sure!). Beth spends her time between our curated cultural experiences through Taiwan as an executive & life coach. She believes travel helps us see life from a different perspective and will be happy to chat about things that you find interesting or even challenging along the way. You’ll hear her banter in Chinese (such a fun experience to see) and you can ask her anything about the Taiwanese culture. She is a pure delight!

While her kids are also both grown and semi-settled in the US, their family looks for any opportunity to return to this beautiful island they called home for two decades.
